Annual DigiTec Business Forum took place in Mariott Hotel Yerevan, Armenia. With the slogan “Smart solutions for smart business” Business Forum 2018 was the most essential technological B2B event, which relates business, government, and customers. The objective of this forum consists of assisting in finding the best technological solutions for all areas of business, providing an opportunity for the technology companies and the key potential customers to meet face-to-face all in one place, promoting the contribution of ICT sector in the different branches of Armenian economy.
During the event, there were organized some panel discussions, when the representatives of different companies had the opportunity to raise the trendiest issues of the year and communicate it with the audience. Our CEO Rafayel Ghasabyan gathered some knowledgeable specialists around the topic “IoT technologies as a stimulus for the development of urbanization and industry”. Anahit Ghasabyan the Project Manager of IIoThink and ASIC Physical Design Engineer, Tigran Baybutsyan, the founder of Treescale.com, Azat Tovmasyan, the founder of Volterman Smart Wallet and Vazgen Hakobjanyan, the founder-advisor of smartgate.vc were the speakers of the Panel discussion.
Also, Ruben Hambardzumyan from NYU has shared his experience working with the New York Urban development project through his amazing presentation.
In the beginning, Rafayel Ghasabyan introduced the IoT, its application and usefulness in different fields and generally the challenges of IoT products development. The discussion continued Anahit Ghasabyan who accentuated the role of IoT in education. She spoke about the difficulties of preparing relevant resources in order to develop the IoT in the educational field and presented the IIoThink as a great solver for existing problems.
Azat Tovmasyan presented the challenges and the success of creating a consumer IoT product like Volterman. He spoke about the advantages and inconveniences of launching a mass production in Armenia and about the specifics of local and external markets.
Tigran Baybutsyan, who remotely joint the discussion shared his own experience about the implementation and integration of IoT solutions in greenhouses in the USA. The solution represented a software application developed for a Seattle based tech company using his own TreeScale technology.
At the end of the discussion, Vazgen Hakobjanyan presented the investment environment in Armenia and the opportunities for IoT solutions providing startups. Afterward, the panel discussion was opened for the public, and the attendees asked questions about the potential that IoT possesses in Armenia, the application of IoT in public government systems, etc.
We consider the panel discussion successful, as during the event we discovered new opportunities for Armenia and for collaboration, we enhanced our network and made the IIoThink more visible.
