RAFA Solutions was featured in the CNN International’s “The Silk Road: Past, Present, Future” series.
“The Silk Road: Past, Present, Future” travels east to west along this ancient trade route, exploring how traditional culture, arts, and trade have developed in the 21st century. Beginning in China, and ending in northern Italy, the journey focuses on a different country each month.
This month CNN was visiting Armenia and Georgia.
The series is presented by CNN correspondent Sumnima Udas, who quoted that “In Armenia, I saw how the capital Yerevan is becoming a regional center for digital technology and innovation, much of which is then exported.”
Armenian episode of the series was dedicated to Armenia’s digital technology and innovation.
Three IT companies were presenting their achievements in the technology sector – “RAFA Solutions”, “Triada Studio” and “Technology and Science Dynamics”, which presented “ArmTab” factory.
RAFA Solutions presented correspondents its current projects, as well as its future plans.
Speaking about the technological heritage of Armenia, director of RAFA Solutions Rafayel Ghasabyan notes: “I would probably say Armenia was kind of a Silicon Valley of the Soviet Union time”.
According to Udas “There are challenges of course. For the new Silk Road to work, these smaller countries need their larger neighbors to be on board. Regional cooperation is vital, cross-border transport and connectivity still need to be improved, and investment opportunities need to be facilitated. But in places like Tbilisi, Yerevan, and Muscat the optimism surrounding the modern Silk Road is already palpable”.
